Every program that participates in San Diego’s Quality Preschool Initiative demonstrates a commitment to quality for the children and families they serve. Participating providers will receive technical assistance to plan and implement quality improvement efforts and will receive materials to help them communicate about their quality with parents and their community. In addition, they will be noted as a QRIS participant on this web site and in search information provided by the YMCA Childcare Resource Service. Some participating programs may also be eligible to receive financial resources. Please contact us
Ratings on the QRIS matrix are provided by the San Diego County Office of Education each year based on the outcomes of independent external assessments and data collected from each program. All agencies providing early care and education for children ages 0-5 are able to receive a quality rating based on the following matrix:
