Quality Journey

Take the Quality Journey with Us!

YMCA Childcare Resource Service (YMCA CRS) and the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) have teamed up to create a QPI Early Learning and Care Quality Journey to help you integrate key quality practices into your work, in alignment with guidance from the California Department of Education and Quality Counts California.

Quality Journey Supports Include:

No-Cost Quality Journey Orientation: Learn more about the elements of quality and opportunities to improve in areas that matter most to you and the families you serve.

No-Cost Initial One-on-One Consultation: After you've completed an orientation, receive a personal consultation to help you plan quality improvement next steps that work for you.

Low-Cost Professional Development Workshops: Register for low-cost workshops on all of the key elements of quality using the links on this page.

On-Site Technical Assistance (TA): As you implement new strategies, specialists from YMCA CRS or SDCOE will come to your program to help you develop or strengthen processes and apply new knowledge.

Coaching: YMCA CRS and SDCOE coaches also provide longer-term, relationship-based support focused on setting and achieving goals over time, similar to a sports coach or physical trainer.

Observations & Assessments: Coaches can conduct program observations using official assessment tools to help you identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and assessors provide official assessments using the Environment Rating Scales (ERS), Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), and more.

Quality Ratings: When you're ready, we encourage you to earn an official QPI quality rating from SDCOE to communicate your quality.
